It's that time of the year again with the state's premier on road RC car racing weekend, the Bendigo Classic. This year is set to provide numbers in excess of all other years forcing us into making some changes to the event schedule where we will be capping in each of the classes as per the above entry list. The beauty of this is that we expect to run 2 different junior classes (Kyosho and 21.5T ) and this adds to our time stresses. It's a great problem to have, I hope you agree.
A maximum of 2 classes per participant will be allowed initially, but if spots are available still, closer to the event, we'll open it up for additional entries. Cross-class touring car entries will not be permitted.
Here is a break down of the classes and class caps we will be running for the event:
As this is a capped event, entries will be open to all present CLUB Members first through to Sunday 7th of August. After this date if members have NOT registered, you will not be guaranteed a spot . Anyone entering after this date will be considered an entrant up to the cap. The system will not allow for entries after the cap has been reached in any class.
This is a controlled tyre event. Please refer to the Class instructions table below for your control tyre information. Control tyres are the Sweep 40 and Sweep 36's. Tyres will need to be purchased directly from Hearns Hobbies. Refer to the following table for direct links to the Hearns online shop products for the details. Please be sure you select the correct tyre for your class.
These Sweep tyres will be special BORRCCC edition tyres that have been custom manufactured and tested on our track to ensure they align to our conditions. Tyres will be individually marked and sealed. Tyres will need to be presented and registered either on the Friday Practice Day or Sat / Sunday mornings prior to each day's race briefing. At the completion of each day, they are to be returned to Race Control.
All bags must remain sealed for registration. You are free to buy as many sets of tyres in the lead up to the event as you like, but must have the nominated sets you will be using for the event, presented at registration in bags that have not had their seal removed. Tyres presented to Race Control with opened bags will not be eligible for registration.
Tyres will be available for collection after the drivers meeting from the designated race Control area.
The Sweep 36 tyre classes will not be pre-marked but will be opened and marked by Race Control at the time of registration.
Be sure to return ALL your tyre allocations at the end of racing each day. Failure to do so will result in disqualification from the event.
You cannot take a tyre allocation from one class to another if running two classes. Tyres allocated per class must be used as per their registration.
Simspec Grip Hack tyre sauce is the controlled Traction additive for the weekend with additive available ONLY at the allocated Goop station. No other additives are permitted. Anyone seen to be using other sauces or additives will be disqualified from the event. Anyone saucing tyres away from the Saucing station will also be disqualified.
Simspec NON Toxic tyre cleaner is the Classic preferred cleaner of choice as well. Simspec will be providing NON Toxic for use at the event at no cost as a value add. These will be available at the goop station.
This year, we will be running the following classes and a break down of the control tyres used is provided in the following table. BORRCCC have worked with Hearns Hobbies on developing and testing a tyre compound suitable for the BORRCCC track and have a special Sweep 40 tyre for all Touring Car classes above Junior. Classes such as Kyosho and Junior classes will all be run on Sweep 36's. Sweep 40's will be pre-branded and pre-marked for the Classic and those using Sweep 36's will need to have their tyres handed in to race control for marking and registering before the drivers' briefing Saturday Morning.

You will be offered 5 qualifying rounds over the Saturday and Sunday. The aggregate of the best 4 finishes will determine your overall qualifying position dropping your worst round. After 2 qualifying rounds there will be a re-grade with another regrade after the 4th. If time does NOT permit, organisers reserve the right to drop a qualifying round to ensure the event remains fluid and can run to completion. At the completion of Saturday Qualifying the Track is CLOSED! Strictly NO practice after day’s proceedings close. Anyone seen practicing after track close will be disqualified from the event.
Sunday finals will be an aggregate of 3 best final rounds to determine your finishing position dropping your worst round. Again organisers reserve the right to reduce the format to ensure we can run to completion.
After each round completion you will be required to deliver your car to the scrutineering tent with your Transmitter and then proceed directly to your numbered marshalling point. Anyone not at their marshalling point at the commencement of the next round will have their best time deducted from their over all finishes for qualifying OR finals. The locations are marked clearly with orange witch’s hats and your race starting position will be your marshalling position.
This event even though not sanctioned will be following the RCRA 1/10 on road guidelines. Scrutineering will be checking;
Once your marshalling duties are completed, please collect your cars and return to your pit area. Any one failing scrutineering will need to see race control, NOT the scrutineers. If your car is not at the Scrutineering tent this means it has failed scrutineering and will be available for collection at race control.
On Conclusion of Racing, race results will be read and trophies will be presented to TQ, 1st 2nd and 3rd positions only. There will be a Concourse Trophy as well.
Camping on site will be permitted if space and council approve it.
Pitting area is on the adjacent netball courts ONLY. No one is permitted to PIT in the track area from Friday practice onward unless you are club committee, race control or a scrutineer. It is also expected that the area around the track, race control and scrutineering areas be kept clear at all times to ensure we can get through all racing as efficiently as possible. ALL spectating to be around the permitter of the fence and there is no one allowed to be seated in the bus shelter at the end of the straight. There is NO entry to the track from the RHS carpark entry after 8.00am each day.
Do not bring your own compressors, AC units, Coffee Machines, mobile pitting trailers, kettles or any electrical device not required to race RC cars. The club has a compressor and two cleaning stations. Food and drinks are available from the facilities.
It is expected that those racing will be ready to race and lined up ready to take the drivers stand at the completion of each round. There is a 2 minute allocation of time between rounds and if everyone is ready to race this 2 minute window will be shortened.
There is no running or other sporting activities permitted in the track area or pitting area due to safety concerns.
If you are looking to register for multiple people, please complete each entry individually. Each entry needs to be for a SINGLE person only and cannot consist of more than 2 tickets (class entries). Repeat the registration process for any additional people you need to register and pay for.
Tickets are non-refundable if we run into circumstances beyond our control (ie. wash out). We still need to recouperate significant costs associated with running the event (such as trophies, catering costs etc) and we know you all understand this.
